Frequently Asked Questions
Orders
If you need to cancel or modify your order, please contact us within 24 hours of placing it. While not guaranteed, the cancellation depends on our warehouse operations. Often, by the time the order is processed, our staff may have already begun the packing process for shipping. Nevertheless, we will do our best to accommodate any requests, if possible.
Please contact us immediately if you need to change your shipping address. If the address needs to be changed after the order has shipped or if it was entered incorrectly, most freight companies will charge a rerouting fee. We will contact the freight company as soon as possible to determine if any fees apply. While we will do our best to minimize or eliminate these fees, you will be responsible for any charges imposed by the freight company.
You would need to do that in different orders. Our website does not allow adding products of different brands to a single shopping cart. This is because products belonging to distinct brands are shipped from seperate warehouses which can be located far away from each other. That is why each shopping cart is handled separately regarding the constraints of each brand.
Yes, we provide free design to assist you in creating your ideal kitchen. Our skilled designers will collaborate with you to understand your vision, preferences, space limitations so that we offer personalized recommendations for your particular cabinet selections.

- Alaska
- Delaware
- Montana

We are committed to providing the highest quality products at the best possible prices. If you find a lower advertised price on equivalent quality soft-close cabinets, we will do our best to match that price and beat it by 5%, within our limits. To facilitate this, we request an itemized detailed quote, including shipping and handling charges. The quote should include the brand of cabinets and sufficiently comparable product details. We also consider the delivery timeframe as part of the valid printed proof of competitor documentation.
After Placing Your Order
Large cabinet and full kitchen orders will be shipped via a LTL common freight carrier. The specific carrier will be determined when your order is ready for shipment, and this information will be included in your shipment confirmation email. Smaller RTA cabinets and accessories will be shipped using FedEx or UPS Ground.
If your order is shipping with a freight company, you must be home for the delivery. Otherwise, either the cabinets are to be unloaded curbside or in case no availability, the freight company won’t be able to deliver and they will charge you a re-delivery fee.
Once your order ships, customer service will email you a shipment confirmation containing all your shipping details. When the order reaches your local freight terminal, the freight company will contact you to arrange a delivery date so you’ll know exactly when to expect it. If your order is shipped via Ground (FedEx or UPS), it will be left at your address even if no one is home.
Product Knowledge
RTA is for“Ready to Assemble”. RTA cabinets come in flat boxes, tightly packaged to ensure no damage occurs during shipping. You will find all the parts needed to assemble our cabinets in every cabinet box.
“RTA kitchen cabinets are designed for quick and easy assembly, making them accessible for both inexperienced DIYers and contractors. Whether you’re a handyman or not, you’ll find that assembling these cabinets with just a screwdriver and a little glue is both fast and satisfying. While most people can easily put together RTA cabinets on their own, some choose to hire professional help. Since unassembled cabinets take up about one-fourth the space of assembled ones, shipping flat-packed RTA cabinets saves a significant amount of money, often more than the cost of hiring help.”
For our RTA cabinets, everything you need, such as hinges, screws, and door bumpers, is already included in your package. Wood glue isn’t necessary, but it’s always helpful unless you intend to disassemble your cabinets in the future.
Absolutely! All of our RTA cabinet lines are more than capable of supporting quartz or granite countertops.
We strongly recommend manufacturer-finished cabinets over custom-painted ones.
Consistent Quality: Manufacturer-finished cabinets undergo rigorous quality control to ensure a uniform finish.
High-Quality Materials: Manufacturers typically use high-quality, industrial-grade UV coatings that are specifically formulated for cabinetry.
Professional Application: The application is done using advanced equipment in a controlled environment, ensuring a flawless finish.
Our drawers have undermount soft-close glides to prevent slamming and wear and tear on the cabinets and all cabinet doors feature soft-close hinges. The exception is that, certain types of cabinets such as Lazy Susan and Spice Rack may not have soft close features by design.
We do not carry any product with particle boards. The box of the cabinets are plywood and
What we consider is an L-shaped 10+10 feet kitchen with a total of 20 feet of wall space. Including essential cabinets in the design, this type of pricing is a common method used by kitchen cabinet retailers to help customers compare an average-sized kitchen cost. Decorative accessories, ssembly and shipping costs are not included in the basic kitchen pricing.
The standard pricing determined by Forevermark allows big box stores some flexibility to include potential costs for installation and other services. Although we do not offer such services, we maintain the standard prices for easy comparison and calculation purposes. You can pay attention to discounted prices only.

Instructions are contained in the sheet that comes with each RTA cabinet package. Our cabinets are designed to be assembled very easily. In case you have difficulty regarding assembly of a particular cabinet, you can contact us so that we can provide you with links for video instructions.
Accessories
A decorative end panel is a cabinet door applied to the side of the cabinet to mimic the appearance of a door, creating a more custom look. While decorative doors are not necessary, they can enhance the cabinet’s appearance.
End panels are optional components for our cabinet lines. However, if you want the sides to be flush with the face frame and achieve a custom look, you will need to use end panels.
Most of our cabinets and vanities include a piece of toe kick for use during assembly. However, we recommend purchasing a 96″ piece of toe kick to achieve a uniform look across the front and to conceal seams between adjacent cabinets.
The installation method for crown molding varies by cabinet style. For full overlay or ¾ overlay cabinets, you may attach the crown to the face frame. Otherwise, it needs to be attached directly to the top of the cabinet. YouTube offers many helpful instructional videos for this process.
Crown molding is provided in a full-length piece, usually 96 inches long. All fillers, moldings, and panels need to be cut to size on-site.
It is used to fill small gaps resulting from uneven walls/ceilings or measurement discrepancies. You can also use to cover shims when installing decor doors, fillers, and similar.
This molding is used under wall cabinets to hide under-cabinet lighting installations or to provide a more finished look.
End Panel Installation
Adhere: You can apply construction adhesive, or wood glue to both the end panel and the cabinet. Allow the adhesive to cure before trimming or cutting the panel, following the manufacturer’s instructions. Use clamps or weights to secure the panel while the adhesive dries.
Finish: Ensure the panel is flush with the front and bottom of the cabinet. Use a 4–5 inch J-roller or wood scraper to apply pressure, starting in the middle of the panel and working with the grain. Use shims to bridge gaps if necessary.
Position: Install the end panel after the cabinets are joined and attached to the wall. It should be flush with the front of the doors or slightly protruding so the doors are set back. The end panel should accommodate any unevenness in the wall or floor.

Simply to see the door and finish in person. This can also assist in selecting your paint, countertops, knobs, pulls, and other fixtures for your kitchen.
- Photographs are not reliable: The coloring, lighting, and shading in pictures can vary across different devices and screens, depending on display settings.
- Text descriptions are not reliable: While they can help narrow down choices, they shouldn’t be solely relied upon for making a significant purchase like this.
Important Note – If you make a purchase from us without ordering a door sample, Shiny Cabinets is not responsible if the shade, sheen, or quality of the finish do not meet your expectations. Therefore, we strongly recommend making this significant investment.
Design
Our goal is 1-2 business days from the time our designer has all the information required to start the project. Actual lead times can vary depending on volume of requests.
A 10-foot by 10-foot kitchen can cost between $4,000 and $12,000. To keep expenses on the lower end, opt for wholesale kitchen cabinets, maintain the existing layout, and participate in some of the work.
Dark kitchen cabinets are definitely in style! While 45% of newly installed kitchen cabinets prefer white color, the remaining 55% chose a darker color or a combination of two-toned cabinets. Shaker-style cabinet doors remain the most popular choice for kitchens, as the percentage of homeowners choosing them is standing at 61%.
Two-tone kitchen cabinets have been popular for over a decade as it can provide design flexibility and add visual interest to a kitchen. Initially, clients would paint some of their cabinets to achieve this look, but now, they often choose two primary cabinet colors during kitchen renovations. It is most effective when one color serves as the focal point, such as white wall cabinets that naturally draw the eye, paired with gray base cabinets that offer a neutral accent.
The most common kitchen layouts include:
- Single Wall Kitchen: All appliances, cabinets, and countertops are arranged along one wall, ideal for smaller spaces and open-plan designs.
- Galley Kitchen: Features two parallel walls with a walkway in between, optimizing space for efficiency and ease of movement, often used in smaller or narrow kitchens.
- L-Shaped Kitchen: Cabinets and appliances are placed along two adjacent walls, forming an L shape. This layout is flexible and can easily incorporate a dining area or island.
- U-Shaped Kitchen: Cabinets and appliances are arranged along three walls, forming a U shape. This design provides ample counter space and storage, suitable for larger kitchens.
- Peninsula Kitchen: Similar to an L-shaped or U-shaped layout but includes a connected island or countertop that extends into the room, creating a peninsula. It offers additional workspace and seating.
- Island Kitchen: Any kitchen layout that incorporates a freestanding island in the center. Islands can provide extra counter space, storage, and seating, and can be used in L-shaped, U-shaped, or open-plan kitchens.
- Open Concept Kitchen: Integrates the kitchen with the living or dining area, promoting a spacious and sociable environment. It often features an island or peninsula to delineate the kitchen space.
Each of these layouts has its own advantages and can be chosen based on the size of the kitchen, the needs of the homeowner, and the overall design of the home.
Determining the perfect kitchen layout and design for your space requires taking into account your specific needs, available area, and style preferences. While a professional designer can provide personalized recommendations, you can begin by considering the “Golden Triangle” design rule to maximize kitchen efficiency. Important factors to consider include efficient workflows, sufficient storage, and a style that complements your home. Ultimately, your choice should match your lifestyle and the functionality you want in your kitchen.
The design software does not account for the trim around the window. When measuring for kitchen cabinets, it’s important to measure the trim around windows from the outside edge of one trim to the outside edge of the other to ensure accurate and comprehensive dimensions. This method accounts for the full width of the window area, including the trim, and prevents any potential issues with cabinet installation, such as fitting and alignment. This approach ensures that your measurements include the entire space that the cabinets need to accommodate, avoiding miscalculations and ensuring a proper fit.
Shipping
At Shiny Cabinets, we offer you free FREE Freight Ground Shipping for orders over $2,999 (to the 48 contiguous US states and DC).
If your order is not eligible for free shipping, then your rate can be seen in the chart below.
Because the shipping cost is calculated by the manufacturer, or sometimes due to unforeseen fluctuations in the freight carrier circumstances, we may face higher than expected costs diverging from what was originally charged on our website. We hate to contact the customer for additional shipping fees, and we try our best to absorb any losses on shipping. Nonetheless, we have the right to cancel or refuse any order.
We take pride in providing express service. After you place your order, our team works diligently to ensure prompt delivery of your kitchen cabinets. For our stock-colors, your order is shipped within 3 – 4 business days. In case of Forevermark Cabinetry, the list is as follows.
Fast Shipping Stock-Colors (3 days)
AW- Ice White Shaker
AB – Lait Grey Shaker
AG – Greystone Shaker
W – Uptown White
For other colors, the processing and delivery of orders are typically completed within 7-12 business days. For custom orders, such as when depth modifications are involved, the timeline may differ, but we will keep you informed throughout the process.
Depending on the warehouse your cabinets are shipping from and the freight company, most transit times to your local freight terminal will take an additional 1-5 business days. Once your order reaches the terminal, the freight company will contact you (using the phone number provided with your shipping address) to schedule the exact delivery date.
Take a photo of the pallet(s) as they are unloaded from the truck, even if the shipment appears to be intact. This can be useful if issues arise later. It is crucial to do a piece count to ensure all ordered items are present (unless notified of any out-of-stock items). Some pieces, like crown molding or fillers, may be packaged together. If possible, open any accessory boxes while the driver is present to confirm all items are there. If an item is missing, document it on the proof of delivery that the driver will ask you to sign. Missing items must be noted on the driver’s copy of the proof of delivery, as we cannot reship them at no charge if shortages are not recorded.
Besides the piece count, inspect each box for visible damage. The trucking company must allow you to check the exterior of each box for cracks, dents, holes, etc. However, you do not need to open each box, just examine the outside. If the driver refuses to wait, call the trucking company and explain that you need to note any visible damage on the proof of delivery and the driver is not cooperating (this is rare). The trucking company’s number is on the shipping paperwork. If it’s during business hours, you can also call us directly for assistance. The boxes are checked in the warehouses before shipping, but the trucking company is responsible for any damages that occur in transit. They will only approve replacements if damages are noted on the driver’s copy of the signed delivery receipt.
If you have any questions about this process, please contact us!
Please inspect the boxes within 48 hours of receiving your delivery and report any damage or missing parts to us. After this period, our manufacturers will no longer accept claims for damages or missing items, and you will be responsible for re-ordering the parts.
Do not refuse any damaged items; instead, note the damages on the shipping paperwork the driver has, have them sign it, and make sure you receive a copy. Then, use this form to contact us about the damaged items within 3 days.
Claims
We recommend that you do it as soon as possible. We forward claims regarding a defective product to the manufacturer. Ideally, for the manufacturer to accept a claim, the cabinet must not be assembled. However, sometimes claims regarding assembled cabinets can also be accepted.
Contact us for a damaged order, we will be able to get you the replacement parts/cabinets that are needed
Customer satisfaction is very important to us. If you are not entirely happy with your purchase, please get in touch with our customer service within 7 days of receiving your order. We will work with you to resolve any issues and find a suitable solution.
Returns / Cancellations
Here is a list of items that cannot be returned. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list, and return policies may vary by collection.
- Pre-Assembled or modified cabinets (e.g., depth modification)
- Ready-to-Assemble cabinets that have been assembled
- Glass doors.
- Moldings, fillers, panels, and various accessories, including but not limited to corbels, brackets, feet, posts, legs, onlays, and valances.
- Aerosol/touchup spray cans
- Items that have been opened or are no longer in their original packaging
If you want to return an item, ensure it is still in its original, unopened packaging and is not one of the non-returnable items listed (see previous entry). Contact us within 5 days of delivery to get a return authorization and the correct return address. Since we ship from multiple warehouses, it’s important to get the correct return address from customer service to avoid issues. If an item is sent to the wrong address, we won’t be able to issue a refund. Returned items are subject to a 25% restocking fee.
Smaller items, such as accessories or small cabinets, can be returned via ground shipping methods like FedEx, UPS, or USPS. For larger and heavier items, you will need to use a common freight carrier. It’s recommended to pack these larger items on a pallet (which can often be obtained for free from local hardware or retail stores) and wrap them in plastic to keep them secure.
Please be aware that all returned items are subject to a 25% restocking fee, and you will be responsible for the return shipping costs.
Delivery Issues
This is quite rare. When you receive your delivery, inspect the boxes for any visible damage right away. If you see damage, note it on the shipping paperwork the driver has and ensure they sign it and give you a copy. Do not refuse the damaged items. Take a photo of how the shipment arrived for your records.
Even if the box is damaged, the contents might be fine, but if you find any damaged parts of the cabinets, report them immediately to us before assembly (unless the item is pre-assembled). You have 3 days to open and inspect all cabinet and accessory boxes for damages or defects. Also, note any missing items or issues with the shrink wrap on the driver’s paperwork.
If there are freight damages, keep the damaged items until the freight company finishes their claim process. This won’t delay your replacement parts. However, the freight company may need to inspect the damaged items. You should hold on to them until we tell you they can be disposed of, which can be up to 90 days for some carriers. Do not throw away any damaged items before getting permission, as you might be responsible for replacing them if the carrier requests to see them.
If replacement parts are required, we will only cover the cost of those parts. Unfortunately, we are unable to reimburse any extra labor costs that the customer incurs for replacing or repairing damaged cabinets.
The cabinet manufacturer reserves the right to determine how to address damaged items due to manufacturer defects or freight/shipping damage. This may not involve a complete replacement of the cabinet or accessory. For instance, if a cabinet door is damaged, you would receive a new door, not an entirely new cabinet.
No, if any RTA cabinets are damaged, please do not assemble them. We need pictures of the cabinets in their unassembled state for our claim process. Assembling them before the issue is resolved could prevent us from issuing replacement parts, as the manufacturer cannot verify if the damage occurred during assembly. Keep the damaged cabinets unassembled until our customer service gives you the go-ahead to proceed.
Although glass doors are secured with additional padding, damage can occasionally occur due to the risk of damage during transport. If you receive damaged glass, please send us pictures and notify our office immediately. We will be sending a new one, or in some circumstances provide a credit to cover the cost of cutting or purchasing the glass locally.
